Yamaha recently launched the BS 6 R15 V3. It gets a new BS6 engine and some new features. The new R15 V3 is the price starts 1.45 lakhs Ex-Showroom. The bike also gets new additional features with a BS6 compliant engine.

1. Side Stand Engine cut Off Switch
The BS6 Yamaha R15 V3 gets a side stand engine cut off switch now. The Side stand engine cut off switch also displays a warning message on the instrument cluster. This function prevents the rider from take off without disengaging the side stand.
This feature is available on all the KTM models in India. This is a really helpful feature that can prevent an accident due to the side stand down.
2.New BS6 Engine
Yamaha updated the R15 V3 with the BS6 compliant engine. The BS6 norm kicks in after April 2020. The R15 V3 continues to use the same 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine. Even with a new BS6 engine with reduced power, the R15 V3 is one the most powerful bike under 1.5 lakh in India.
During the BS4 transition automobile manufactures had to clear their inventory by offering a good amount of discount. But now for the BS6 transition, all the manufacturers are prepared and are moving smoothly.
3.Radial Tires In BS6 Yamaha R15 V3
The new updated R15 V3 gets a radial tire at the rear in the new R15 V3. The rear tire dimension is 140/70R17M/C 66H radial tire. The radial tire offers a superb grip while cornering. The radial tire also improves the shock-absorbing capabilities.
4.New Graphics
The new R15 V3 gets updated graphics on all three colours. The R15 V3 is currently offered in Racing Blue, Thunder Grey, and Darkknight black. All these three colours were already available but they now have been updated with new stickers.

5.Dual Horn
The new Yamaha R15 V3 gets a dual horn setup onboard. Now R15 V3 uses a dual-tone horn. The new horns deliver higher decibels and lower decibels.

With the compliance of the new BS 6 engine, The bike is now 3 kg heavier than the BS4 model. A considerable amount of drop-in power and torque output is there. The Yamaha R15 V3 is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine. The motor is capable of churning out 18.3 bhp of maximum power and 14.1 Nm of peak torque. Also, the power and torque figures of the new R15 have dropped from 19 bhp to 18.3 bhp and 14.1 Nm from 15 Nm respectively.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The assist and slipper clutch feature ensures light clutch pull and smooth downshifts. The braking duties are taken care of by 282 mm disc up front and 220 mm disc at the rear. However, unlike the Yamaha MT15, the R15 V3 comes with a dual-channel ABS. It continues to use telescopic front forks and mono-shock at the rear. The international variant of R15 V3 uses upside-down front forks, but the Indian variant is equipped with telescopic forks to keep costs in check.
