BMW, short for Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (Bavarian Motor Works in English), is a German multinational automotive company known for its luxury vehicles. The company was founded on March 7, 1916, in Munich, Germany, by Franz Josef Popp, Karl Rapp, and Camillo Castiglioni.
