Honda CB125R Overview
Design & Styling: Honda claims that the CB125R is a Neo Sports Cafe racer bike. It has chunkier USD forks, a Sculpted tank, and round LED headlamps that give it a beefy front end look. The bike looks compact and more mature than Other 125cc bikes in terms of design. Overall it looks really good and the build quality of the mini Honda is appreciable.
Engine & Performance: The Honda CB125R runs on a 125cc single-cylinder, programmed FI engine. The motor churns out 15 PS of maximum power at 10,000 RPM and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 RPM. It is quick in the traffic and also it offers decent top-end performance. Its engine is liquid-cooled and it comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox like the bigger CBR 150.
Frame & Suspension: It is based on the inner pivot type diamond frame which is both lightweight and compact. The suspension duties on the Honda CB125R are taken care of by 41mm Showa USD telescopic forks and a single damper rear mono-shock. The front and rear suspension offer the perfect balance of comfort and stability.
Brakes & Wheels: The CB125R comes with a 296mm 4-piston calliper wave-type disc brake at the front wheel and a 220mm 2-piston calliper disc at the rear. It is equipped with twin-channel ABS with IMU. The IMU stops the rear wheel from lifting in case, the rider slams the front brakes a little harder. It comes with 17-Inch alloy wheels at both ends with tubeless tyres.

Dimensions: The Honda CB125R is a very compact bike, It weighs only 130 kg which makes it the lightest among the other 125cc bikes. As the demand for premium small capacity bikes in India is growing, Honda might bring an India bound CB125R soon.
If launched it will have the same price tag as its competitors the Duke 125 and MT-15. The Honda CB125R price in India could be nearly Rs 1,20,000 (Ex-Showroom Price). Honda will have to price it competitively to attract buyers. If priced correctly it might give a tough fight to the MT-15 and the KTM Duke 125 in the Indian market.

These are the four main competitors of the Honda CB125R in the 125cc naked street bikes segment. All of these bikes produce the same amount of power that is 15 PS. In terms of design, the Duke 125 & Yamaha MT-125 are funky and cool looking, while the Z125 feels a little outdated.
All of these bikes offer more or less the same equipment. But the Honda CB125R takes the lead in terms of handling & build quality. Also, it is the most mature-looking bike in this segment, well looks are subjective but we think it is the best-naked streetfighter in the 125cc segment.
Verdict on Honda CB125R
It is a beautiful and well-built bike. It might not attract the young crowd, who are looking for something funky and cool like the MT and Duke. The CB125R is a mature looking bike with a unique design. It has a premium build quality and we think it’s the best looking bike in its class.
Now coming to the engine and performance, The new Honda CB125R produces more power and the power output of the new model is 15 PS that is similar to its competitors. Its engine is reliable and it offers smooth power delivery. For a beginner rider, this streetfighter offers an engaging performance. It has a smooth 6-speed gearbox and a very light clutch that is a pleasure to use. It is capable of hitting triple-digit speeds and it also has quick acceleration.
The mileage figure is around 46 km/l which makes it economical and commuting friendly. In terms of handling the Honda CB125R takes the lead. The handling is very good, it feels agile and quick. The suspension setup is perfectly balanced for both city and highway rides. It weighs 126kg, which makes it fairly lighter than its competitors. The braking performance is also good and the safety net of ABS with IMU is a great help for new riders.
The new CB125R has been improved a lot, it is more powerful that makes it even more desirable. It looks gorgeous, and it has a very premium build quality. This streetfighter is well equipped and it is a value for money bike. If the Honda CB125R is launched in India, it will give a tough fight to the Duke 125 and MT-15 in the entry-level premium bikes segment.
