Honda CBR 150R Overview
Design & Styling: There has been no major design change in the new 2023 model. It gets a sleek dual-LED headlamp design that gives it an aggressive face. The Honda CBR 150R has a clean fully-faired design and it gets a sharp muscular tank. It has a very compact tail section and the tandem split seats give it a sporty vibe. It is offered in four colour options to choose from. Overall the new CBR 150R looks fierce and very appealing.
Engine & Performance: The Honda CBR 150R is powered by a 149.16cc single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-Valves engine. The engine is liquid-cooled and it uses a programmed fuel-injection technology for fuel supply. The CBR 150R churns out 17.1 PS of maximum power at 9,000 RPM and 14.4 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 RPM. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it has a top speed of 136 km/h. Its mileage output is around 38 km/l, which is really good for a sports bike.
Frame, Brakes, & Suspension: It is based on the same diamond truss frame as Honda CB125R. The Honda CBR 150R comes with adjustable preload upside-down front forks and a 5-step adjustable preload rear mono-shock. The adjustable suspension is a new feature that has been added to the 2023 model. Braking duties are taken care of by wave type hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear wheels. It is also available in a dual-channel ABS variant.
Dimensions: Honda CBR 150R is one of the lightest supersport in its class, it weighs only 137 kg. It has a seat height of 782 mm and it offers a ground clearance of 160 mm. Its wheelbase is 1,310 mm and it has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.
Lighting: The Honda CBR 150R comes with full LED lighting like the bigger Honda CBR 250RR. It gets dual LED headlamps and LED DRL’s that looks very stylish. The turn indicators as well as the taillamp are LED units. It also gets an automatic emergency stop signal, that starts flashing all the four turn indicators while sudden braking.
Wheels & Tyres: It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends. Honda CBR 150R runs on 100 / 80-17M / C 52P tyres upfront and 130 / 70-17M / C 62P tyres at the rear. Its rear tyre is narrower as compared to its competitors like the R15 V3.
Instrument Console: Honda CBR 150R features a fully digital instrument console. The instrument panel is neatly led out and it is easy to read. The digital instrument console shows all the basic information like speed, tachometer, trip meter, odometer and fuel gauge. It also has a gear position indicator and engine temperature indicator.
Misc Features: It comes with split tandem-seat that is comfortable for both rider and pillion. The pillion grabrails are elegantly integrated into the body and it gets aluminium footpegs. The New Honda CBR 150R gets a sporty exhaust muffler with Kevlar patterned protectors. It uses a premium NGK spark plugs that are very efficient.
Honda CBR 150 Price in India & Launch Date
Currently, there are no reports about the launch of this 150cc supersport in India. It was earlier available in the Indian market but Honda discontinued it during the BS4 transition. It is one of the most awaited bikes in India. As of now, the brand has not disclosed any information regarding the Honda CBR 150R launch in India. Considering the popularity of premium 150cc bikes in India we hope it is launched this year.
If Honda plans to launch the CBR 150R in India in future then they have to price it very competitively. If Honda manages to price it similarly to the R15 V3 then it could be very successful in the 150cc segment. The Honda CBR 150R price in India is expected to be in the range of Rs 1.4 – Rs 1.5 Lakhs INR.

The R15 V3 is slightly more powerful and offers some additional features like a slipper clutch.
Looks are subjective, and both the CBR 150R and R15 V3 has a stylish and appealing design. The popularity of premium 150cc bikes in India is on an all-time high and the Honda CBR 150R could be a great addition to this segment. If Honda prices it competitively, then it could be the most successful bike for the brand in the Indian market.
Verdict On Honda CBR 150R
The 2023 CBR 150R looks great, its sleek and sporty design makes it stand out from the competition. It is offered in four attractive colour options with cool graphics. Premium underpinnings in the design like LED lighting, muscular fuel tank and compact tail section enhances its overall design.
The 149cc single-cylinder motor produces around 17.1 PS of power and 14.4 Nm of torque. Honda CBR 150R is slightly underpowered compared to its biggest rival the R15 V3. But in real-world conditions, there is not a groundbreaking difference in terms of performance. The six-speed transmission helps it in performing in the top end of the rev band.
The CBR 150R comes with an adjustable preload front and rear suspension, which is a segment-first feature. It allows the rider to tune the suspension at both ends according to their needs. The brakes are efficient but ABS is not offered as standard. As it is very lightweight, this supersport has very nimble handling.
It is loaded with modern features like an LCD console, Full LED lighting and adjustable suspension. A powerful engine with a superlight frame that works like magic. The Honda CBR 150R offers a complete package and it is a perfect entry-level supersport bike.
