The Exact Launch date of XSR 900 in India has not yet been confirmed by Yamaha, But as its naked sibling, MT-09 is sold in India, we can hope Yamaha might launch this as well.
The Expected Price of Yamaha XSR 900 in India is 10.5 lakhs INR. Yamaha may introduce this sports heritage motorcycle at one of the auto expos in 2020. Yamaha is also planning to bring the baby XSR 155 in India this year.
The XSR 900 comes with a good amount of electronics goodies for a neo-retro heritage motorcycle. It comes with the following Sets of electronics and riding Aids.

It has an adjustable traction control system, which the rider can select according to the riding condition. It has 3 modes Mode 1, Mode 2, and OFF. Mode 1 is for minimal intervention, mode 2 is for maximum intervention and off mode switches off the system completely.
It has a ride by wire electronic YCC-T throttle which provides crisp acceleration and response. The throttle response can also be adjusted accordingly.
The assist and slipper clutch provides a better clamping force and reduces the back-torque. It also minimizes rear-wheel hop under hard acceleration. The slipper clutch also makes the clutch pull lighter by 20%.

Yamaha XSR 900 is a heritage motorcycle and is the flagship bike in the Yamaha’s Heritage lineup. It has a neo-retro styling and looks very refreshing, sleek and beautiful. The bike is available in two color options.
It is powered by an 850 cc inline 3 cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine. Like the other bikes, it also uses Yamaha’s cross-plane crankshaft technology. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, which works smoothly with an assist and slipper clutch system.
The motor of Yamaha XSR 900 is capable of producing 115 PS of maximum Power at 10,000 RPM and 87.5 Nm of Peak Torque at 8,500 RPM. It uses a ride by wire throttle and comes with various power modes to choose from according to the riding conditions. The use of a traction control system further increases safety while riding and gives rider extra confidence.
XSR 900 is equipped with a dual 298 MM hydraulic disc brakes at the front and 245 MM Single hydraulic disc brakes at the rear. The braking Saftey is further improved by the use of a dual-channel ABS.
Suspension duties are taken care of by upside-down telescopic forks at the front, and a link-type suspension at the rear. The suspension setup at both the front and rear is adjustable. The suspension allows the wheel travel of 137 mm and 130mm at the front and rear respectively.
XSR 900 is surely a great motorcycle, but it has some serious competition in its segment. It competes with BMW R Nine T, Ducati scrambler, Harley Davidson roadster, and triumph Thruxton R.
Our Verdict On Yamaha XSR 155
Yamaha XSR 900 is a great looking motorcycle that has some serious performance to offer. The bike is fully loaded with great features onboard that a middleweight motorcycle should have. Currently, the old school retro design is very popular and XSR 900 is impressive in terms of retro design with a slightly modern touch.
It has good performance and has a comfortable riding posture as told by some owner. Some of the owners pointed out is the tall seat height and the visibility on the rearview mirror is not the best thing about this bike.
All in all its a good motorcycle with impressive performance and decent price tag.
The Price of the XSR 900 in the USA is $ 9,499. However it is only available in selected countries, we hope this beauty makes its way in the Indian market soon.
