Design & Styling: The RC 250 comes with a sharp and sleek design that resembles its bigger sibling. At the front, you get round shaped twin-projector headlamps that give it an alien face. The muscular fuel tank and sharp body farings give it a streamlined design. It has an upswept tail section and a compact pillion seat that gives it a sporty aura. The KTM RC 250 looks sporty and race-ready even without any major design updates for a long time.
Engine & Transmission: This supersport is powered by a 248.8 cc single-cylinder, DOHC engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. It uses an electronic fuel-injection system for fuel supply and it comes with a BOSCH engine management system. The KTM RC 250 comes with a power-assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch that reduces the back-torque produced by the engine and also make the clutch pull lighter.
Performance, Mileage & Top Speed: The RC 250 makes 30 BHP of maximum power at 9,000 RPM and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 RPM. It has a solid mid-range performance but it lacks the top-end grunts as compared to the other quarter-litre supersport bikes. The KTM RC 250 has a top speed of 155 km/h and it can achieve 0-100 km/h under 9 seconds. It has a combined mileage output of around 30 km/l.
Frame, Brakes, & Suspension: KTM RC 250 is based on the same steel trellis frame as the other RC series bikes. It comes equipped with 43 mm WP USD forks at the front end and a WP mono-shock suspension at the rear end. For Braking, The RC 250 relies on a 310 mm 4-piston calliper disc brake at the front wheel and a 230 mm 1-piston calliper disc brake at the rear wheel. It also comes with BOSCH dual-channel ABS as standard.

Dimensions: The RC 250 has a wheelbase of 1,340 mm and it offers a ground clearance of 178.5 mm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 10 litres which is a downside if you plan on touring. The seat height of this supersport is 820 mm and its dry weight is only 147 kg that making it the lightest among its competitors like Yamaha R25 & Ninja 250. The KTM RC 250 runs on 17-inch orange coloured cast alloy wheels and premium Metzeler tyres.
Lighting: KTM RC 250 features a twin-projector halogen headlamp that looks very distinctive. It also gets sharp-looking LED daytime running lamps and its headlamp comes with AHO (Automatic Headlamp On) feature. It gets a stylish LED taillamp unit that is elegantly placed beneath the pillion seat. All four turn indicators are sleek LED units and the front set of turn indicators are mounted on the rearview mirror.
Instrument Console: The instrument console on the KTM RC 250 is a fully digital LCD unit that has an orange backlit. The LCD unit shows speed, odometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, engine temperature and average speed. It also shows real-time fuel consumption and distance to empty. It comes with a gear shift light and also the instrument cluster has a gear position indicator. The LCD console of RC 250 is well lit and easy to read while riding.
Misc Features: It comes with split seats that look sporty but the pillion seat is compact and a little uncomfortable for long rides. The KTM RC 250 comes with a side slung exhaust that looks sporty. It also comes with BSOCH 2-channel ABS with a supermoto mode that allows the rider to disengage the ABS on the rear wheel. It also gets a side stand engine cut off switch.
KTM RC 250 Price in India & Launch Date
The other siblings of the RC 250, the KTM Adventure 250 & the KTM Duke 250 is already on sale in India. As per some media reports, KTM India is planning to introduce the supersport version to the Indian market soon. The KTM RC 250 is expected to launch in India in the second half of 2024. It will come with a BS6 compliant engine and once launched it will be the second supersport bike by KTM in India.
The upcoming quarter-litre RC will carry a slightly higher price as compared to its streetfighter sibling the Duke 250. KTM RC 250 price in India is expected to be around Rs 2.3 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom Price). It will be hard for the brand to price it for the Indian market as the price difference between its bigger sibling the RC390 will be minor.
